Photo Gallery and Property Description
This beautiful hotel commissioned by the Countess of Oxford was completed just two years after the railway first reached Cannes in 1864!
In 1865 with the recent advent of the railway there were 100 000 visitors to the Cote d’Azur.
In 1887 Cézar Ritz took over and put his personal stamp on the Hotel.
In 1888 the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) spent many weeks there with his five children….and so on.
In 1937 the Hotel was redesigned and sold as residential apartments.
The building and its gardens remain as a beautiful survivor of that “belle epoch”.
The grand and spacious apartment on 6th floor has the most fabulous and absolutely unimpeded view through more than 180º from the hills of Super Cannes, through the Islands of Lerins and the Peninsula of Palm Beach, Cannes and the towns of La Napoule and Mandelieu, to Theoule and the red hills of the Esterel in the very far west. Stupendous views!
The apartment comprises an entrance hall, a huge double living room of over 60m² with balconies out front, an equipped and lovely kitchen, and three bedrooms with bathrooms en suite, as well as a cellar, a lockable garage and ample visitor parking in the securised hotel grounds.
It is just above the centre of Cannes, overlooking the city, and is literally a five minute drive to town.
