If you know that you want to live in La Californie suburb of Cannes, you probably know you want to live in the Avenue Roi Albert. It is “the” address in La Californie, and some would say in Cannes. But there is competition for that spot so I won’t enter into the argument – suffice to say that some of the most historic buildings in Cannes, built at the turn of the 20th Century by the Russians, the Americans and the English were built there and are still there today. Victoria and Albert are reputed to have enjoyed their holidays there, Edward and Wallis Simpson, the Rothschilds, and the Russian aristocracy all lived, holidayed or socialised there, and the more recent additions to the architecture in the street have respected the tradition and the quality of their forebears’.
This apartment block is no exception – built to a very high standard in 1975.
The apartment being offered is on the ground floor of a four floor building, but as the building is entered from the north side and the ground falls away quite steeply, the ground floor apartment facing south west has another floor below it, and the advantage of the slope disappearing down to the sea in front of it.
The volumes in this apartment are huge, and the suspended terrace enormous too. It is empty and there will inevitably be some work to be done in terms of painting, and bathrooms and kitchen to suit the taste of the incoming owners, but essentially it is in excellent condition. It has a huge living and dining area opening onto the terrace, three big bedrooms with bathrooms en-suite, a guest toilet, a large equipped kitchen, a garage in the basement and a cellar. There is a lovely pool and a tennis court in the grounds.
An exceptional apartment and an exceptional piece of real estate.
