This little apartment looking out across the rooftops of Cannes is just across the Voie Rapide, and a few metres from the Rue d’Antibes, three minutes to the Crosiette and five minutes to the Palais des festivals. It sits high enough, is set well back, and is well protected with double glazing so the sound of traffic is hardly an issue at all.

It has been quite amazingly renovated, with such imagination, clever use of space and flair (and somewhat whacky too) that we have never seen anything quite like it! The whole visit to this apartment was a revelation but at the end of the visit the seller, in his 40’s with a great handlebar moustache, said “attendre, j’ave sauvegarder encore une surprise pour vous” or “wait, I have saved one more surprise for you” and lifted the bed on its hinges to reveal a tiled Jacuzzi under the double bed, complete with shiny chrome plumbing, hooks for the towels (on the underside of the bed which now formed the Jacuzzi wall) speakers set into recesses, a mirror on the ceiling and a television screen and wall mounted fan to keep things cool! Vicky and Delphine just cried with laughter, tears ran down their faces, but so, fortunately, did the seller. He was however at pains to explain that it works wonderfully and he and his lady love use it regularly.

The apartment comprises a living room opening onto the south facing terrace, a fully and beautifully equipped kitchen with granite surfaces, a shower and separate toilet, and the bedroom with a dressing room off it (and a Jacuzzi bath under the bed!

In all seriousness though, it is in a good position for rentals, is beautifully and comfortably appointed - and it has plenty of novelty value. Delphine describes it a “un appartement atypique”. That it certainly is.
