The building and the grounds are magnificent, and protected. It is just above Forville Market and the Old Town of Cannes, with a pedestrian path through the lovely gardens to a locked gate for which residents have the code. This leads straight down to Forville and the Palais des Festivals, the centre of town and the beaches. So for longer term residential rentals or short term seasonal and conference rentals this apartment is very well suited.
Parking within the premises is for residents and is plentiful, and the apartment comes with a small room (old servants quarters) on the top floor. (In French it is known as a “chamber de bonne” and I don’t know what it is in English). The room has a water supply, and there is a communal toilet down the corridor serving a few of these small rooms on the top floor. Some rooms are equipped with a basin or a small shower and used as an additional or occasional bedroom, and some are used for storage. The option is there, but in this case the room is empty of any facilities although it is plumbed.
The apartment is very pleasantly renovated, light and bright and with maximum utilisation of the space. As it has such high ceilings the owners have created a mezzanine level and a staircase to access a sleeping area above. This allows the floor level to be an open and pleasant living area, with an open plan kitchen and a shower room and toilet.
