This stunning little villa forms a part of the original domaine of Chateau Scott which still stands graciously just meters away. The sellers have made a wonderful job of renovating it to maximise and preserve every detail of its charm, but to incorporate every modern comfort possible. They have spared nothing to achieve the home of their dreams, but personal issues have forced the sale.
To appreciate the charms of this villa one must imagine the ancient cedars that cover the hillside in the gardens of the Chateau, the twisting roads snaking their way upwards between ancient stone walls, and the views across the bay, the Isles de Lerins with the ancient fort which was prison to the Man in the Iron Mask for fourteen years, lit at night and clearly visible across the water. The oldest working monastery in Europe is on Isle St Marguerite, and the monks still produce wines and sell them from their 14th century vineyards. Further east the yacht basin and Golfe Juan are clearly visible, with Cap d’Antibes laid out beyond it. It is a magnificent position, just five minutes from Cannes and the beaches.
The villa itself is on two levels looking south and west with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, off the spacious living room with a fireplace. The dining room opens onto a charming separate patio. The garden has a large “spa” pool, heated and with jets like a big Jacuzzi. There is a lift between the floors, the villa is air conditioned, and there is a 70m² solarium. There is automatic watering of the garden and lovely lawns, and an entrance on two levels, each fully securitised.
At the back and in the original stone, and connected to the main house is another room with plumbing and power, as yet un-renovated. It can and should be renovated to create a separate studio apartment, or extension to the villa. So there is potential to develop this property further.
There is direct access from the Chateau Scott properties to the sea – to the little rocky coves and beaches at the eastern edge of Cannes.
Although the entrance to the property is from the main road between Cannes and Golfe Juan, and that is what the map shows, one enters through the old gates and drives up and up and well away from the road, so that it is neither heard nor seen.
